Sweet Down Low

This is useless without Apartment Life. If you don't have the ability to shift paintings up and down, walk on by. Yeah, its a niche thing, but someone wants it.





This is a largish default replacement. It is best explained in pictures:











This replaces a whole bunch of things from the wall hanging category, just about everything that is not a poster. There are also some custom paintings. Replaced are BB's Feast of Frames, Maxis ReFramed by CuriousB, Wall Polaroids also by CuriousB, smaller Eaxis paintings by JonInMobile, and resized travel posters by karaskaras and Clutter-a-holic. I did not make any of these! I just slid them down the wall. Custom Paintings have the same GUIDs as the originals but different file names. You'll need to remove the originals.

This intrigues me! I'm curious, though, if the paintings will go all the way up the wall using these mods, or if they stop partway up rather than hitting the ceiling.

They go up until the top of the mesh is even with the top of the wall. For example, in the title pic that painting will go up about another 3 clicks. So there is still an annoying spot where you can't put things, but its only really a problem if you are trying to get a nice line of paintings moving up a flight of stairs.

This is brilliant! It has always really annoyed me how the paintings go dark. Now they won't! The only thing that doesn't make me deliriously happy about this is that I will have to wait 3 weeks till I'm back on proper broadband to download it.

Thank you so much! It particularly bothered me that they got dark since I have Ddefinder's lighting mod.
Does these include the shiftable shelves from AL? If not, would you be moved to do them, or possibly do a tutorial how to do it? ;)

I want to do the shelves. The problem is the slots, I have yet to figure out how to fiddle with them. So, I can move the mesh bit of the shelves, but that doesn't do a heck of a lot of good 'cuz the objects will just float. I'm considering making a set of shelves with no slots, since I mostly block the slots and use Silent Lucidity's OMSPs anyway. *Shrug* That's a ways off though. I think the next thing in the Down Low pipeline is curtains. Writing a tutorial is a good idea. This mod is seriously SO easy to do. Might save me work in the long run :).

I love these, make's decorting my sim's walls so much easier.

I was wondering if there was a tutorial on how to do this? There are some Base Game posters (the ones that look like they have been stuck up with tape) that I'd like to do the same thing (they still go dark when moving down) and would love to do them myself.

Hey, I've had this for a while and I've got a little bug to report. Once you have all of these paintings fixed, it defaults to be on the ground for me. Is it just my problem or does this happen normally?

Thnak you! This is one of my favorite fixes, it's spoiled me rotten! So now I want to do the Holiday Stuff paintings and wondered if you were still simming at all and if so, could you share the steps you used? If it's something requiring Milkshape and meshing I won't be able to but if editing the GMDC resource in SimPE is how it's done, I can do that if you tell me how :D

Its not a problem on the first floor of lots without foundations. It's most noticeable in apartment lots. I guess your mileage has a lot to do with how you build. It doesn't have anything to do with lighting mods, though.
